About Busey Photography

We started birding when we were living by Busey Avenue in Illinois—a quiet street with endless surprise from nature and our bird friends. Even just from our tiny balcony, we have welcomed visitors from Northern Cardinals, House Finches, Mourning Doves, American Goldfinches, Gray Catbirds, and a variety of sparrows—just to name a few!

A mourning dove family visited our balcony almost everyday back in Illinois

We no longer live in the Midwest. Instead, now we travel with our backpacks and cameras with the goal of sharing photos to fellow bird-lovers. As you can probably tell, we are just starting this. But so far we have birded in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Utah. In the next few months, we will share with you all the beautiful images of birds from these places, all taken by us on the road!

In addition to photography, we also plan to share our experience and some useful tips on some beautiful birding trails in this country (so you will be more informed and not make the same mistake we made!). If you enjoy hiking, you might enjoy our articles as well!

It goes without saying that we are not the best bird experts or bird photographers you know. While we certainly are becoming better at both birding and photography, this page is mainly for you to sit back and enjoy the beauty of nature.

To begin, take a look at our post to see what’s new. We also use Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/busey.photography so definitely check that out too.

At this point of writing, we are stranded at home like most of you due to the coronavirus. So hopefully some cute bird would help. Please stay home and stay healthy :-)
